MGT Radio Forro

MGT Rádio Forro is a Brazilian online radio station based in São Paulo that is dedicated entirely to the vibrant rhythms of forró and piseiro, traditional music genres originating from the Northeast of Brazil. The station is part of the larger MGT Rádio network, which offers a variety of specialized online stations. Its primary focus is “forró music,” which typically features instruments like the accordion, zabumba (a type of bass drum), and triangle. The station offers a 24/7 streaming service featuring a rich selection of tracks from renowned artists such as Wesley Safadão, Jonas Esticado, Márcia Fellipe, and Saia Rodada, entre otros. While traditional forró (“forró pé de serra”) is a core element, more modern subgenres like “university forró” (influenced by pop and rock) y “electronic forró” also exist within the broader forró scene.
