Rádio Cachoeira FM 94.7 is a Brazilian radio station based in the city of Cachoeira do Sul, en el estado de Río Grande del Sur, that plays hits and popular music, with a strong focus on regional Brazilian genres. Con el tiempo, its focus shifted to music, deportes, and journalism. The station is often referred to as “A mais querida da região!” (The most beloved in the region!). Rádio Cachoeira’s programming is fairly diverse, with a strong local/regional flavor. Its musical programming is quite broad but heavily emphasizes popular Brazilian styles, including Bailão/Bandas (brasileño “band” música, popular in the South of Brazil), Campo (música country brasileña), Gaúchas/Alma Pampa (traditional music of the Gaúcho culture from the Rio Grande do Sul region), and Pagode (a subgenre of samba).
