Rádio Mania Do Melody

Rádio Mania Do Melody is a Brazilian internet radio station based in the capital city of Belém, in the state of Pará, that plays a playlist heavy on “melody” style; this includes melody romantico, melody atual/marcante, and similar sets. Melody is a local/regional subgenre of Brega music, which is very popular in the Northern region of Brazil, especially in Pará. The station’s slogan is “O site que faz você dançar” (“The site that makes you dance”). It is characterized by romantic, often melancholic lyrics and synthesized musical arrangements, drawing influences from calypso, zouk, and electronic dance music. The station’s playing music seems to be strongly influenced by tecnomelody, a subgenre tied to tecnobrega.
